Some other really good songs released in 2020

There were a lot of good songs released in 2020. So much so that I had to cut down my Honorable mentions. So yeah, here are some more songs I liked this year. Enjoy.

Every song released by bbno$ and Yung Gravy this year

Yung Gravy & bbno$ Release Baby Gravy 2 - The Honey POP

And right away, we're starting off with 2 of the best artists of all time. I know I mentioned these guys a lot on my lists multiple times, but bbno$ and Yung Gravy are fantastic. While their music doesn't give me the same euphoric feeling that the music of AJR does, it feels like it's tailor made to fit my needs. Their songs are weird, fun, silly, enjoyable, and most of all, just exist to be fun. I like Billie Eilish, but sometimes you need something fun, enjoyable, and wacky. And bbno$ and Yung Gravy supply that in full. God bless you guys.

Good News by Mac Miller

I don't have any positive or negative feelings towards Mac Miller, may he rest in peace. But this song is absolutely fantastic. The instrumental is lovely, Mac's voice is lovely, and the song has such an enjoyable, relaxing vibe. It reminds me of Lemonade by Internet Money, which is the honorary #11 of my best Lyrical Lemonade songs list. This song is so happy, lovely, and enjoyable. Not since The Sound by The 1975 have I been this upset that a song didn't become a hit. Really check it out, especially if you're a Mac Miller fan.

Good Day by Surfaces

As I've mentioned multiple times on this blog, I love Sunday Best. It's fun, enjoyable, and happy. But as good as SB is, it doesn't come close to topping Good Day. Because Good Day is a good song. Like Good News, Good Day is incredibly relaxing, Surfaces' voices sound even better than on Sunday Best, the music video is fun and playful, and it's an all around nice jam. I highly reccomend checking this song out, and I can't wait for more Surfaces.

Wonder by Shawn Mendes

Wonder is a fantastic song. The production is lovely, Shawn sounds amazing, and the song just has a fantastic, euphoric vibe. It's a song that's just objectively good in every way. I am so proud of Shawn for evolving. Keep up the good work, buddy.

This Video Is For A Tax Write Off by Gus Johnson

Gus Johnson is absolutely hilarious, and this song is one of the reasons why. He made a video to avoid getting taxed, and blatantly makes that obvious. And on top of that, the song sounds amazing. The production is funky and fun, Gus sounds fantastic, the lyrics are hilarious, and of course, that amazing Keytar solo. Like wow, is that a good solo. It may be short, but This Video Is For A Tax Write Off is a fantastic song. Oh, and at 0:38, there's a couple making out behind Gus, which is absolutely hilarious.

Graveyard by Halsey

This is a Halsey song, a song made by my least favorite female artist of all time, and not only does it sound great, but it doesn't even have the excuse of having a producer. This is all Halsey. Wow. Just....wow. The production is great, Halsey sounds amazing, the song has a funky, relaxing vibe, and it's just an all around lovely song. Bravo Halsey, bra-fricking-vo. I still hate you Halsey, but Graveyard is a great song.

Stunnin by Curtis Waters and Harm Franklin

This song is an absolute jam and a half. The beat is funky and psychadellic, Curtis sounds great, the lyrics are fantastic, the music video are cool, and the guest verse from Harm Franklin is also really good. An absolutely fantastic song that came right the hell out of nowhere.

Supalonely by BENEE and Gus Dapperton

Supalonely is a very...interesting song. For starters, the production is really good. It's fun and poppy, and BENEE has a really lovely voice. The music video is also really fun, quirky, and enjoyable. But let's get to what makes this song....interesting. The lyrics. Despite the happy tone, this song is about BENEE dealing with the loss of her romantic partner, and her being lonely. And while this does kind of set the song on an uneven tone, at the same time, it gives the song some personality. Oh, and there's also Gus Dapperton. He's fine too. A little nasally at points, but he's fine. So yeah, Supalonely is an alright, if tonally imbalanced song, and I look forward to hearing more from RENEE

Right Back by Khalid and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

While nowhere near as good as Be Like That, Right Back is still a fantastic song from the greatness that is Khalid. The production is fun and bouncy, Khalid is Khalid, the lyrics are fine, and Boogie sounds good as well. I'm kinda mixed on A Boogie. Look Back At It is really good, but Swervin is meh, and I haven't heard most of his other songs. But in here, he's really good. Check this out, especially if you're a fan of either, or both artist.

Changes by Lauv

Unlike Changes by XXXTENTACION, which is an incompetent mess, Changes by Lauv is really good. The beat is nice and relaxing, Lauv sounds amazing as usual, the lyrics are good, and it's just a lovely song all around.

Coffee by Quinn XCII and Marc E. Bassy

Coffee is a really good song. The beat is really nice, Quinn and Marc sound great, the lyric video is really cool, and the lyrics themselves are very interesting and compelling. It's a really deep song that's both relaxing and compelling.

Shoe Laces by Curtis Waters

Hey, Curtis Waters is back! And like Stunnin, Shoe Laces is a great song. The beat is relaxing and groovy, Waters' voice sounds really good, the lyrics are really interesting, and don't even get me started on this music video. It's like if Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and Will McDaniel's Doomsclay had a baby. Bottom line, Shoe Laces is another fantastic song from Curtis Waters, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists.

Coke & Mentos by Salem Ilse

Mad At Disney is a really bad song. It's pretentious, dumb, and full of terrible lyrics. But there are 2 things that put it above the other songs I mentioned in my worst of 2020 list. 1. the good instrumental, and 2. Salem's lovely voice. And if you want those things without the pretentiousness of Mad At Disney, look no further than Coke & Mentos. The instrumental is funky and happy, very similar to No New Friends, the lyrics are cool, but the thing that I love the most is Salem's voice. That girl can sing. Her voice is so lovely and soft. It's like the musical equivalent of Linus' security blanket. I 100% endorse both this song, and the artist who made it, and I am so looking forward to whatever songs she has next.

Feelings by Lauv

Hey, look. Lauv is back. And he brought a fantastic song with him. The production is fantastic, Lauv sounds amazing as usual, the lyrics are interesting, and the song just has a fun, enjoyable feeling. It's like a less depressing version of Supalonely. Check it out, it's so good.

Bones by Maren Morris

I know I'm throwing this word a lot in this post, but if I could think of one word that could describe Bones, it would be lovely. The production is so nice, Maren's voice is lovely, the lyrics are fine, and the song just has a nice, soothing vibe. It's like Maren looked at Taylor Swift's Cardigan, and said "Hold My Beer". A lot of people really love this one, and it's not hard to see why. Because it's really good.

Compensating by Aminé and Young Thug

Aminé is a very interesting and underrated artist. And Compensating is one of his best songs. The beat is funky, Aminé's voice is cool, and Young Thug sound really good and has a great flow, and the song itself has a very cool, bizarre, relaxing vibe.  I am quickly becoming a big fan of Aminé, and I can't wait to hear more from the guy.

Nuketown by Ski Mask The Slump God and JuiceWRLD

Since I love both of these artists, it only makes sense that I would also love a collaboration from them. The beat is cool, Ski Mask sounds great and has a fun flow, the lyrics are cool, and as for JuiceWRLD? He's fine. He's a little shouty at points, and nowhere near as good as Ski Mask, but he brings some fun and charm into the song. Nuketown is a really good song from 2 great artists, who were both great friends. R.I.P JuiceWRLD. You will forever be missed.

Leaving My Love Behind by Lewis Capaldi

I cannot get over how good Leaving My Love Behind is. It's easily the best song Lewis has ever made. The production is amazing, Lewis sounds amazing, the lyrics are so fantastic, and every aspect of this song is so lovely. It's like the musical equivalent of a hug. I absolutely love this song, and think it deserves way more attention.

Shopping Spree by Murda Beatz, Lil Pump, and Sheck Wes

Like A Boogie, I haven't been exposed to enough Murda Beatz songs to get a good enough opinion on him. Aside from this one, the only other Murda Beatz songs I've heard were Nice For What, an empowering jam made by Drake, and FEFE, an ugly, creepy song made by a pedophile. But Shopping Spree proves that FEFE was a fluke, because this song is awesome. The beat is really cool and ominous, Lil Pump sounds good, the lyrics are fun, the music video is fun, and it reminds me of Macklemore's Thrift Shop. As for the Mo Bamba guy? He's really good. Unlike in Mo Bamba, Sheck manages to bring in a lot of fun charm, and sounds really good. So yeah, so if you like Lil Pump, Sheck Wes, or Thrift Shop, go on a shopping spree, and check out Shopping Spree

Karma by AJR

Neotheater, while a very bizarre album, is still really good, mainly because it's from one of the best bands of all time, AJR. And while Karma isn't even close to the best song on that album, it's still extremely good. The production is peak AJR. It's so bizarre, fun, and energetic, giving me the same euphoric feeling that songs like Overture, Bummerland, and Sober Up give me. And on top of that, everything else is great too. Jack sounds fantastic as usual, the instruments are great, the lyrics are phenomenal, it's just everything you'd want in an AJR song, and more. I will never understand why these guys get so much hate, because their music is like the audio equivalent of a rapture, and I am so excited for AJR's One Spectacular Night on December 26.

Out Of Style by The Wrecks

You might remember that I put another song by The Wrecks, Fvck Somebody, on my best list, above BANG!. That just shows how good that Fvck Somebody was. And Out Of Style manages to be just as good as Fvck Somebody. The beat is really fun and enjoyable, Nick Anderson sounds great, the lyrics are cool, the music video is awesome, and the song just has a great vibe all around. It's a fun, enjoyable song, from an underrated as hell band, that you should totally check out.

Teeth by 5 Seconds of Summer

5 Seconds Of Summer is one of the most polarizing bands in recent memory. People either love them or hate them. My thoughts on 5SOS? A little bit of both, but mainly on the positive side. They've made songs that I really dislike, such as Amnesia and She's Kinda Hot, and they've made songs I really like, such as She Looks So Perfect, and this one, Teeth. Unlike SLSP, which is fun and happy, Teeth has a very ominous, creepy vibe. But not enough to be uncomfortable. It also has a very rock like beat, good vocals, and a pumped up vibe. The lyrics are also very cool, and the music video is awesome. If you're a 5SOS, take a bite with Teeth.

Money Buy Drugs by Cal Scruby

Money Buy Drugs is a really good comedy song. The beat is cool and funky, Cal sounds great, his flow is really good, the music video is cool, and the lyrics are absolutely hilarious. If you want a song that you can bop to and laugh at, check out Money Buys Drugs

Virtual Aerobics by Wallows

Virtual Aerobics is a bizarre, fun, slice of insanity. The singer is good, the lyrics are weird, the melody is interesting, and the song is just so fun, enjoyable, bizarre, and jaunty. I definitely look forward to hearing more from Wallows.

Homicide by Logic and Eminem

Despite the name of  the song being a synonym for murder, Homicide is a really cool song. The beat is fun and creative, Logic has a fantastic flow and voice, the lyrics are great, and Eminem is really good. Not as good as he was in Godzilla, but he's still really great. His flow is cool, his voice is great, and he has a great attitude. And don't get me started on the funny and interesting music video. Homicide gets my seal of approval.

Billy by Lauv

Of all the songs on this list, Billy is by far the most adorable. The production is really nice, Lauv sounds great as usual, the visualizer is great, but what makes this song so great are the lyrics. They're so adorable and sweet, especially because he made it about his dog. Lauv really deserves much more attention than he has. Because he is a really good musical artist.

The Birthday Party by The 1975

The 1975 is like if Panic! At The Disco and the 1980s had a baby. They are a fantastic, underrated as hell band. And while The Birthday is nowhere near as amazing as The Sound, it's still a really good song. The production is really nice and happy, Mathew Healy sounds great, the lyrics are really good, and the music video is really cool and weird. It's a lovely, nice song that we need in these troubling times.

Slow Dancing In The Dark by Joji

And now we get to the opposite of  The Birthday Party, a song that is dark as hell. But unlike a lot of dark songs, this song works really well. The beat is cool, Joji sounds great, and like Robbery, Slow Dancing In The Dark has a really relaxing vibe. It's like if you combined lofi and Billie EIlish into one song. It's a really interesting evolution for a guy who's previous songs were like this:

So yeah, Slow Dancing In The Dark is a great example of dark songs done right, from a fricking YouTube comedian of all people.

Heartless by The Weeknd

Heartless is another song that makes me question why The Hills is Abel's biggest hit. Sure, let's not make his biggest hit the cool and charismatic Can't Feel My Face, the awesome 1980s love letter I Feel It Coming, not even Blinding Lights, a song which everyone, even myself, loves. No, let's make his biggest hit a muddy pile of ear rape that sounds like garbage. But enough about that, let's talk about why Heartless is awesome. Like Blinding Lights, Heartless is really jazzin and has an 80s vibe. Abel sounds amazing as usual, and the beat is funky and cool. The music video is also really cool, making the song feel like it's connected to Blinding Lights. I am so glad that Abel is taking the Bruno Mars route, and homaging the 1980s, because this works for him way better.

night night and outside/inside by gnash

So. gnash suddenly became good out of nowhere. Granted, I've only heard 2 songs from the guy, but considering that one of them is my worst song of 2016, and the other almost convinced me that MAX sucked, it's pretty hard for him to leave a good impression on me with those songs. But he manages to make up with it by giving us not one, not three, but two really good songs, First, night night. night night is one of the most lovely, nice songs ever. The production is nice and relaxing, gnash's voice sounds amazing, the lyrics are so happy and nice, and the lyric video is really cool. As for the second song? It's even better. Like night night, gnash's voice sounds lovely, and the production sounds good, but what makes it better than night night is the lyrics. The song comforts the listener throughout the pandemic, and tells him/her that these times are tough, but we'll get through it together. It's hard to believe that this guy made the most pretentious, dull, obnoxious song of 2016. Good on you, gnash. Hope you keep getting better.

What To Do! by Danny Towers

I really, really, really REALLY like this song. The beat is cool and fun, the music video is cool, the lyrics are cool, but what makes What To Do! so great is Danny's voice. It's like a male version of Tones And I's voice, and it works really well against the song's bizarre, cool vibe. So if you like Dance Monkey, check out What To Do!. I greatly look forward to hearing more of Danny Towers' music.

Also, consider this the honorary #12 for my best Lyrical Lemonade songs list.

What's Poppin by Jack Harlow

And so, we end our 2020 journey with a verified classic, What's Poppin by Jack Harlow. I put the remix on my HMs, and while that remix is pretty good (especially DaBaby's verse), it can't top the original. The beat is cool, Jack sounds fantastic and chill, the lyrics are clever, the music video is cool and full of personality, and the song itself is such a nice groove and vibe. It's not hard to see why What's Poppin is Jack's most famous song, because it is so fun, enjoyable, and awesome. Too bad the year of 2020 couldn't be as fun and happy as this song. Man this year was a mess.

Well, that's my list. What are your thoughts on these songs? What are some other good songs released this year? Comment below!

And for those wondering, Lauv is pronounced like this: (l-ow-v)
