Song Review: Post To Be by Omarion, Chris Brown, and Jhene Aiko

Post To Be is a major guilty pleasure. On the surface level, it's a dumb, stupid club song with a ton of production problems. But it's still an absolute banger. The beat is really fun and infectious, which is surprising, considering it's from DJ Mustard, one of the worst producers ever. As for the singers? They're all alright. Omarion sounds cool and charismatic, Chris Brown is enjoyable and fun, and Jhene is alright as well. As for the lyrics? Like The Lazy Song, the lyrics are the only weak part of this song. Aside from a Murder She Wrote reference, the lyrics in Post To Be range from forgettable, to absolutely ridiculous. The worst one is probably "Eat Your Booty like Groceries" Um...what? But despite that, Post To Be is a fun, enjoyable banger with a few problems, but is still insanely fun.

What are your thoughts on Post To Be? Comment below, and stay tuned for my best songs of 2020 list, which will show up on December 1 at 8:00 AM.

Song Review: On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull vs Give Me Everything by Pitbull and Ne-Yo

Pitbull is an absolutely fantastic artist. The man has some failures under his belt, like We Run The Night and Three To Tango, but most of his songs are fantastic, enjoyable pieces of fun. And today, I'm going to talk about two of his best songs, On The Floor and Give Me Everything. First, On The Floor. On The Floor is an absolutely fantastic party jam. The beat is fantastic, and the song has an infectious energy, as well as great lyrics. As for the singers? J-Lo is alright. She does a really good getting into the party motif, and you can clearly see that she's having a lot of fun. And Pitbull? Absolutely fantastic. He's just doing his thing, and having a blast doing it. While he's not in the song for as much as J-Lo, he still makes a good impression, and it's way more of a Pitbull song than a J-Lo song. So yeah, On The Floor is great. But as good as On The Floor is, it doesn't top the masterpiece that is Give Me Everything. If it wasn't for Back In Time, Give Me Everything would be Pitbull's best song. It gives Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO a run for its money, it's that good. First off, it's nice to go back to when people heard the word "Kodak" they thought of the camera brand and not Kodak Black. Secondly, this song is straight up phenomenal. The production is fantastic, Pitbull is being his fun self, the lyrics are fun stupidity, and Ne-Yo just steals the show. As good as Pitbull is in this song, Ne-Yo is better. His voice is angelic and fun, which helps support the song's fun energy. Everything about this song is so fun and energetic, that it can't not put you in a good mood. Bottom line, On The Floor and Give Me Everything are both absolutely fantastic party jams from Mr. Worldwide, the king of the party jam. Check them out.

What are your thoughts on On The Floor and Give Me Everything? What's your favorite and least favorite Pitbull song? Comment below!

Song Review: Sail by AWOLNATION

In Sean Fey Wolfe's 2015 best list, he put The Hills at #5, mainly due to how such a dark song managed to become a huge hit. And while The Hills is an awful pile of ear rape, I do respect it in that regard. I mean, it's not like a dark song managed to become a huge hit while sounding good at the same ti-OH WAIT, YES THAT TOTALLY HAPPENED WITH SAIL BY AWOLNATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, The Hills becoming a hit is still pretty impressive, but Sail managed to become a huge hit, while being dark and sounding good. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's talk about why Sail is such a good song. First off, the production. This production is fantastic. It's almost hard to describe. The closest word I could use to describe it is funky, but it's not really entirely funky. It has incredibly bizarre choices, like pianos, vibrating, screeching, it's all very weird. It kind of reminds me of Come With Me Now, in how it tackles a dark subject matter with impactful production. The singing is also good. It's mainly scream-singing, which usually sounds really bad. But Sail makes it work. There's so much passion put into his voice, that it helps make the screaming palatable. Also, the lyrics are dark, but interesting. Going back to The Hills, that song had lyrics about stuff like drugs, sex, and an unneeded reference to The Hills Have Eyes, while Sail is about a man suffering as psychological breakdown through his A.D.D. About going through the trauma of a mental disorder. And it SOUNDS GOOD WHILE DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and I almost forgot the music video. Yeah, this music video is really cool. Not only are there a lot of really cool things happening, but it also leaves it up to the listener to imagine what is going on. Awesome. In conclusion, Sail by AWOLNATION is a fantastic song. If you're a fan of The Hills, check out this song. And even if you aren't, like I am, check this song out. It's really great.

Album Review: Professional Rapper by Lil Dicky

I have mixed feelings on Lil Dicky. He can make genuinely funny, enjoyable tunes, like $ave Dat Money and Too High, and atrociously unfunny trainwrecks, like Earth and Pillow Talking. But today, I'm going to take a look at his debut album, Professional Rapper, and see if it's as funny as George Carlin, or as unfunny as Amy Schumer.

Lil Dicky - Professional Rapper (2016, Vinyl) | Discogs

Cover: This is a very cool cover. It has a very meta vibe, with Dicky's resume, a condom, what I presume is a joint, black earbuds, and a phone playing the song "Professional Rapper". A very interesting, eye catching, meta cover. The white and blue color scheme is also a nice touch. Verdict: 4/5.

Song 1: Meet The Burds (Interlude)

This is a very interesting opening. It's basically Dicky talking to his parents. It's very interesting, funny, and sets the tone for the album. But it's not really that interesting.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 2: Professional Rapper

Title tracks are usually really good, and this one is no exception. Professional Rapper is not only the best song on this album, but one of the best songs of Dicky's career, if not his absolute best. The production is great, Dicky sounds great, Snoop sounds great, and it's interesting seeing him being strict and judging, instead of the nice cool guy he usually is. But what really makes Professional Rapper such a good song is the lyrics. They're funny, clever, feel realistic to Dicky, and really help paint a picture of who Dicky is and how he sees his industry. It's less like listening to a song, and more like reading Dicky's memoir, with a bit of comedy. Bottom line, Professional Rapper is a fantastic, funny, interesting, catchy song. Easily the best song on the album.

Verdict: 6/5.

Song 3: Who Knew

Who Knew is a very cool song. It has a very futuristic, funky vibe, Dicky sounds great, the lyrics are great, and it's a really cool, interesting song. Definitely an album highlight

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 4: Lemme Freak

Lemme Freak is really weird. The production is decent, and Dicky sounds fine, but these lyrics are weird as hell, but not in a good way. Honestly, I don't really get it. There isn't even really an attempt at making a joke, and it's just boring and dumb. Skip this one.

Verdict: 2/5.

Song 5Lemme Freak For Real Tho (Outro)

This one is a little better. Like Who Knew, it has a very interesting, futuristic vibe. It's not amazing, but certainly better than Lemme Freak

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 6: White Crime

This song is really cool. Like Ransom by Lil Tecca, White Crime has an ominious vibe, but doesn't go overboard with how ominous it is. Also, Dicky sounds great, the song has a funky vibe, and the lyrics are really good. A definite album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 7: Molly

Molly is a song that does a good job of showing Dicky's soft side. It's a song about Dicky contemplating him losing his girlfriend. Not only does Molly handle its subject matter well, but it sounds really good. The melody is nice, Dicky sounds good, his flow is great, and the lyrics are deep and introspective, while still having a bit of a comedic vibe. Also, Brendon Urie is on this song, and (big shocker), he's really good. His voice sounds fantastic, and it works really well. Bottom line, Molly is a very well made, interesting song. Great work, Dicky.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 8: Bruh...

I mentioned in my best of 2015 list that Bruh... was Lil Dicky's most underrated song. And I still stand by that. Bruh... is a really good song. The beat is good, Lil Dicky's voice and flow are great, the lyrics are clever, and the song has a boppin, funky vibe. Another album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5

Song 9: Hannibal Interlude

This is another good interlude. It has a catchy vibe, it's self aware, Hannibal sounds decent, and it's funky. Much better than the first interlude.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 10: $ave Dat Money

This song is Dicky's biggest hit, and it's not hard to see why. It's insanely good. Sure the idea of making a rap song about saving money as opposed to spending money isn't exactly an original one, but $ave Dat Money does do the idea justice. The beat slaps, Dicky and Fetty sound great, the lyrics are clever, the way it utilizes rap tropes is clever, and Rich Homie Quan's verse is fantastic. Not only does it sound great, but it has the double of joke of parodying how guest verses rarely have anything to do with the actual song, and saying that not using all of Rich's verse in order to save money. It's no Thrift Shop, but $ave Dat Money is still a fantastic comedy song. Also, that bit near the end where Dicky talks to the waiter in his deep voice is really funny.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 11: Oh Well

Oh Well is another great song. It's really relaxing, it has a funk, I love the poppy instrumental, Dicky sounds fantastic, the lyrics are clever, the flow is good, and Jace and Jace of Two-9 are both good. Yet another album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 12: Personality

This song is really good. It has a funky and fun vibe, Dicky and T-Pain sound great, the lyrics are good, and it's so catchy and danceable. Not the best song on the album, but very close.

Verdict: 6/5.

Song 13: Pillow Talking

It's appropriate that the 13th song (a number that is associated with bad luck) on the album is easily the worst one. Granted, unlike Lemme Freak, I can at least see what Dicky was going for when he made Pillow Talking, but it's much more of a failure. The production is bizarre and awful, Dicky sounds terrible, Dicky's brain is annoying, but what really makes Pillow Talking fail is the lyrics. These lyrics try so hard to be funny, but just fail. It tries to be bizarre and random, but there's just no technique. It just goes from random topic to random topic, without saying anything funny. It's basically an even less tolerable version of Earth, without the environmental stuff. Easily the worst song on the album. Do not listen.

Verdict: 0/5

Song 14: Parental Advisory (Interlude)

Yet another interlude. Basically the same as the original. There's no need to comment on it. Basically everything I said about the first Parents interlude apply to this one as well.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 15: Classic Male Pregame

This song is meh. The production is alright and Dicky sounds great, but it doesn't really stick out the way $ave Dat Money does. It's incredibly forgettable, boring, and not that funny. Skip.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 16: The Antagonist

This song is really cool. It has a very funky vibe. Dicky sounds great, his lyrics are good, his flow is decent, and it's very catchy and groovin. It's kind of like a sequel to Professional Rapper. Really cool stuff.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 17: The Antagonist II

Is this another case of the sequel being better than the original? Yes. The Antagonist II ups everything that made the original Antagonist good. The beat is even more funky and cool, Dicky is even better, and it's even more boppin. Another great album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 18: Parents Still Don't Understand (Interlude)

The final interlude on the album. Is it a good one? Well, it certainly is one. It's another interlude with Dicky and his parents. Nothing to say here.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 19: Work (Paid For That?)

This song has a very 80s vibe. It has a lot of synths, and is very funky. Dicky also sounds really good, and the lyrics are decent. Another really good album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 20: Truman

And now, we reach the final song on Professional Rapper, Truman. Is it a comedic sucess, or a comedic dud? A sucess. The beat is really good, Dicky sounds great, the lyrics are alright, and it reminds me of Macklemore a bit. It sounds like it would fit right at home in Gemini. And that's a compliment. An alright end to an ok album.

Verdict: 5/5

Final Thoughts: Certain albums manage to exceed your expectations, and be better or worse than you were anticipating. Professional Rapper is not one of those albums. This is exactly what you would expect from a Lil' Dicky album. Some funny songs, some unfunny songs, some songs that sound good, some songs that sound awful, I got exactly what I was expecting. It's not an absolutely amazing comedy album, but it's decent for what it is. If you're a Lil Dicky fan or a fan of comedy music in general, check this album out. But don't expect anything amazing. Just expect Lil Dicky doing his thing.

Verdict: 3/5.

Best songs: Professional Rapper, $ave Dat Money, Who Knew, White Crime, Molly, Bruh..., Oh Well, Personality, The Antagonist, The Antagonist II, Work (Paid For That?)

Worst songs: Pillow Talking, Lemme Freak, Classic Male Pregame

Album Review: Neotheater by AJR

Welp, here's the review most of you have probably been waiting for: Neotheater by AJR. One of the most hated albums of 2019, and the second studio album of a band I love with a flaming passion. While I have had a lot of exposure from most of the songs from The Click well before I reviewed it, aside from Next Up Forever, 100 Bad Days, and Birthday Party, I haven't really heard most of the songs from Neotheater. So I'm going into this album with open eyes. These are my thoughts, as a massive AJR fan, on Neotheater. Let's begin.

 upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5c/AJR_Neot...

Cover: Like The Click, Neotheater's cover is really cool. It's plush versions of Adam, Jack, and Ryan sitting on a pile of instruments in the clouds. Very pretty, eye catching, and creative. Verdict: 5/5.

Song 1: Next Up Forever.

I could not possibly think of a better song to start the album off. Everything about this song is so grand and amazing. The intro is incredible, the production is absolutely fantastic, Jack sounds amazing as usual, the lyrics are kind of cheesy, but they're not that bad, and I understand the feeling of always wanting to be pursuing something, instead of actually getting it. As they say, the journey is more fun than the destination. I don't know how the rest of the album will play out, but this song is definitely helping Neotheater's case.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 2: Birthday Party

Oh boy, here we go. After building it up, I will finally talk about Birthday Party. Now, I normally don't talk about a song's premise, but the premise of this song is integral to why it's so bad. See, Birthday Party is about a baby who is born into the world, and is imagining what the world will be like through a naïve viewpoint, because it's a baby. This fails for 2 reasons: 1. it comes off as incredibly pretentious. 2. It's a baby. It should not know any of the stuff it speaks about in the song. Because IT'S A BABY. But as Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh), The Pina Colada Song, and Rude prove, a song can still be alright, even if it has an awful premise. So what about the rest of Birthday Party? Eh. The production is weird, the lyrics are dumb and moronic, and it's just an all around confusing experience. The chorus sounds fine, and Jack sounds good as usual, but Birthday Party is a gigantic pile of pretentious idiocy. I'd recommend listening to it in a Room or Birdemic way, in how it's so bad it's good. But if you want a genuinely good AJR song, this party is not for you.

Verdict: 2/5.

Song 3: 100 Bad Days

After the massive mess that is Birthday Party, the album quickly picks itself up with 100 Bad Days. The production is great, Adam sounds fantastic, the lyrics are great, the song has a funky, bombastic vibe, and it has great rhythm. A definite album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 4: Don't Throw Out My Legos

This is a very...interesting song. Like Birthday Party, the production is very weird. But unlike Birthday Party, I can get behind this weirdness. There's a bit of funk, Jack sounds amazing as usual, the lyrics are kind of dumb, but not that bad, and the song has a very nice sounding feel. Really cool and decent.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 5: Break My Face

I absolutely love this song. Every inch of this production is so bombastic and funky, Jack sounds great, the lyrics are fine, and there aren't any stupid lines. The face may be broken, but this song sure isn't.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 6: Turning Out Part II

This is one of those cases where the sequel is better than the original. While the original Turning Out was boring as hell, this one is really good. The production is nice and soothing, Ryan sounds lovely, the lyrics aren't dumb at all, and the pianos are lovely. Why the hell wasn't the original Turning Out like this?!

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 7: The Entertainment's Here

This song is meh. It's not absolutely amazing, but it has a nice, and pleasant vibe. Definitely a weak entry in Neotheater, but still alright.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 8: Karma

This song is alright. The production is nice, Jack sounds great, the song has a boppin vibe, the lyrics are decent, I love the cyberpunk elements, and the cowbell. A definite album highlight

Verdict: 4/5

Song 9: Beats

While the song starts off terribly, it gets better as it goes on. The beat is both relaxing and funky, Jack sounds good, the lyrics are alright, and it's a generally alright. Far from the best song on the album, but far from the worst.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 10:Wow, I'm Not Crazy

This song is cool. It has a nice, relaxing vibe, Jack sounds ok. and it's a good song to listen to when you're feeling down. An absolutely great song.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 11: Dear Winter

Oh my god this song is an emotional powerhouse. Jack sounds heavenly, the guitar strumming is lovely, the lyrics are masterful, and it's such a lovely tearjerker. If you don't at least give a nice smile when listening to this song, you either have a heart made of stone, or you're a jerk. Easily the best song on the album. It's such a powerhouse. I love it.

Verdict: 6/5.

Song 12: Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Do Next)

And now, we get to the last song on the album. Does it end the album with a bang, or does it fall flatter than Birthday Party? Bang. Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Do Next) is a fantastic end to this album. It sounds lovely, it has a catchy, funky vibe, and it has a bombastic feel similar to Next Up Forever. But what truly makes Finale a great song is the ending. It's so powerful and emotional, and really makes you feel like you witnessed something great. A fantastic end to an alright, albeit strange, album.

Verdict: 5/5

Final thoughts: So, does Neotheater deserve the hate it has? Well... yes and no. Neotheater is a bizarre experience. Unlike Gemini, which is hated because it's forgettable, Neotheater feels like it's hated because of how weird it is. Because this album is bizarre as hell. Birthday Party is an idiotic and strange failure, and while the other songs are good, they are very bizarre and weird. Do I recommend this album? If you're as much of an AJR fan as I am, then yes. If you've never heard an AJR song before, I recommend checking out The Click, before you check out this album. And if you hate Neotheater, I understand. It's a very bizarre, flawed album, with numerous problems. But at the end of the day, it's still an AJR album. And even though many people hate them, and I won't stick by every AJR song ever made, I am, always have been, and always will be, a die hard AJR fan. So yeah, despite its problems, Neotheater gets my seal of approval.

Verdict: 5/5.

Best songs: Next Up Forever, 100 Bad Days, Dear Winter, Turning Out Part II, Don't Throw Away My Legos, Karma, Break My Face, Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Do Next),  Wow, I'm Not Crazy.

Worst songs: Birthday Party.

Song Review: Scream And Shout by will.i.am and Britney Spears

A lot of people really hate this song. Do I agree with them? Yes and no. On the one hand, this song is dumb as hell. It tries way too hard to be futuristic, the lyrics are dumb and meaningless, the way Britney Spears says "Britney, Bitch" is incredibly stupid, and it's incredibly idiotic and stupid. But on the other hand, it is kind of a guilty pleasure. It's catchy as hell, the music video is cool, and it is jammin and funky. It's idiotic, but it's idiotic in an interesting way. It's just a bizarre, funky, piece of insanity that you can't look away from.

What are your thoughts on this song? Comment below!!!

Album Review: A Very Trainor Christmas by Meghan Trainor

Unlike a lot of people, I actually like Christmas Music. Sure, not every Christmas song is great, but for every Christmas Shoes and Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk on Christmas), there's a Jingle Bell Rock, Feliz Navidad, and Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. So, as a Christmas Music fan, I'm going to look at Meghan Trainor's Christmas album, A Very Trainor Christmas, and see if it's as good as Better When I'm Dancin' or as awful as No. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/pt/c/ce/Meghan_T...

Cover: This cover is meh. It's not awful, but it's really simple and plain. It's just Meghan standing in front of a bunch of presents, decked out in Christmas garb, and biting a Candy Cane. Not awful, but could've been a lot better. Verdict: 3/5.

Song 1: My Kind Of Present

My Kind Of Present is basically All I Want For Christmas Is You lite. But despite that, it's still really good. Meghan sounds nice, the beat is nice and jazzy, the lyrics are alright, and it manages to capture the jolly spirit of Christmas, without any of the faux feminism that plagues Meghan's bad songs. A great start.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 2: It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Unlike John Legend's cover of Baby It's Cold Outside (Screw that cover), Meghan's cover of It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas is really good. It stays faithful to the original, Meghan's voice sounds lovely and fits well with the song, and it does a great job capturing the Christmas spirit. It's not as great as the original, but it does come close.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 3: I Believe In Santa

This song is really bad. The opening is awful, the beat is annoying, Meg sounds terrible, the lyrics are hokey, and the trumpets, while not as bad as in Willy Wonka, are really annoying. A definite skip.

Verdict: 0/5.

Song 4: Last Christmas

I really like this cover. It's funky, Meghan sounds great, the tune is boppin as hell, and it has none of the problems that plagued the original. A definite album highlight.
Verdict: 5/5.

Song 5: Holidays

This song is awesome. It's funky, groovy and fun, Meghan sounds fantastic, and it has frickin' Earth Wind And Fire! What more do you need to tell you that this song is good?

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 6: Christmas Party

This song is really great. The production feels like it came from an AJR song, Meghan sounds great, the beat is funky, the lyrics are cool, and it has a quintessentially Christmassy feel. This album is going strong.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 7: Winter Wonderland

This is a very lovely cover. The ukulele sounds lovely, Meghan's voice is fantastic, and the song has a nice jolly tone. Easily on par with the original.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 8: White Christmas

Another amazing cover. The production is amazing, Meghan sounds amazing, and the song is so lovely and has such a cozy vibe. Oh, and Seth Macfarlane is on this song too. And for someone who isn't primarily a singer, Seth kills it. His voice is frickin' fantastic. You can barely even tell that it's him. Easily one of the best songs on this album.

Verdict: 6/5.

Song 9: Holly Jolly Christmas

This cover is alright, but it's really bland. It's just a typical cover, which doesn't add anything new. It's bland, commercially, and not that memorable. If you want to listen to it, fine, but you're not missing much if you don't.

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 10: Christmas Got Me Blue

This song is alright. The beat is cool, Meg sounds decent, there's a bit of funk thrown in, and the song's premise is really interesting. A really good song with decent lyrics.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 11: Sleigh Ride

This song is really good. Unlike Holly Jolly Christmas, this is a cover that adds a lot of umph and funk. The beat is cool, Meghan sounds great,  and it manages to capture a Christmassy feeling, while sounding fantastic. An absolutely fantastic piece of music.

Verdict: 6/5.

Song 12: My Only Wish

This song is meh. The beat is eh, Meghan sounds alright, but there's nothing that memorable or interesting about it. Major skip

Verdict: 3/5.

Song 13: The Christmas Song

Not really feeling this one. It tries to be relaxing and jazzin, but it's too unbalanced and uneven to pull it out. Also, Meghan's voice does not work for this kind of song. At all. A definite skip.

Verdict: 2/5.

Song 14: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

While not the worst cover on this album, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer is the most pointless. It doesn't do anything that any other version of the song hasn't done, and Meghan's voice sounds...ok, but it's not anything spectacular. If you've listened to any version of  Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, you've heard this one. SKIP.

Verdict: 1/5.

Song 15: Naughty List

I am totally feeling this song. The melody is tropical and boppin', Meghan sounds great, the lyrics are decent, and it manages to convey the Christmas spirit in its own way. A definite album highlight.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 16: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Another boring and forgettable cover. Just listen to the original. This one is boring as a C-Span concert.

Verdict: 0/5.

Song 17: I'll Be Home

Wow this song is BORING. Everything is so blah and dull and crushing. Ugh. The production is sappy, Meghan sounds dull as hell, easily the worst song on the album. SKIP THIS. PLEASE.

Verdict: -2/5.

Song 18: Silent Night

And we end this album with, big shock, another cover. So, do things end off with a bang, or a whimper? A bang. This cover is very nice. The production is nice, Meghan's voice is soft and sweet, and the song has a nice, lovely vibe. Easily on par with the original, and a great choice to end the album on.

Verdict: 5/5.

Final thoughts: A Very Trainor Christmas is a very enjoyable Christmas album. There are a few stinkers once in a while, and some pretty pointless covers, but most of the album is full of wonderful Christmas tunes, and some very good covers on par with, or even better than, their originals. If you're a fan of Christmas music, and want something new to listen to for the holidays, check this album out. And even if you hate Meghan Trainor with a passion, I still recommend checking out this album. It's nice to see that Meghan Trainor can ignore her misandrist attitude, and make a Christmas album that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Thank you, Meghan Trainor. This album truly is a gift.

Verdict: 5/5.

Best songs: My Kind of Present, Holidays, Christmas Party, White Christmas, Christmas Got Me Blue, Sleigh Ride, Naughty List,

Worst songs: I Believe In Santa, Holly Jolly Christmas, The Christmas Song, I'll Be Home, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Song Review: Turn Up The Music by Chris Brown

Turn Up The Music by Chris Brown is one of the most obnoxious, loud, grating pieces of music ever made. But despite that, I actually kind of like it. Now, keep in mind, there's a difference between calling a song good, and saying that you like it. For example, Me Too is not exactly a "good song", but I still like it, while When The Party's Over, despite being a good song, is not exactly one I "like". And Turn Up The Music is one of the former. On paper, it's an obnoxious piece of party drivel, that sounds like a dubstep seizure. But at the same time, it's so fun and enjoyable. Turn Up The Music is similar to Hangover in, despite the fact that it's an insanely obnoxious piece of dreck, it's fun and enjoyable enough to make its obnoxiousness bearable. As for Chris, he sounds pretty good. He's fun, enjoyable, and charismatic as hell. Bottom line, Turn Up The Music is a bizarre piece of music. It's obnoxious, grating, irritating, and idiotic, but has enough fun charismatic energy to keep me from hating it. So yeah, chalk this up to guilty pleasure territory.

Song Review: Classic by MTKO vs Classic Man (Remix) by Jidenna and Kendrick Lamar

There are 2 reasons I'm talking about these songs in one review. 1: they both have the word "Classic" in their titles. And 2: they're both enjoyable and fun songs. Let's start with Classic. I haven't heard of MTKO before I heard Classic, but if their other songs are like Classic, then they have a lot of talent, because Classic is a great song. The main reason Classic is so good, is because it's so fun. The beat is funky, jammin', and full of enthusiasm, both singers sound great, and the lyrics are enjoyably silly. It's basically the good version of Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor's Marvin Gaye. It does exactly what that song does, but actually succeeding, instead of falling flat on its stupid face. And it does it while having fun, and being incredibly wholesome. I especially like the bit at the beginning, where the girl says "Hey, where's the drums?" It's funny, and it does a good job setting up the tone for the song. Moving on to Classic Man (Remix). Like MTKO, I've never heard of Jidenna before this song. But if his other songs are this good, than he's one of my new favorite artists, because I absolutely love this song. The second this song comes on, I have the uncontrolable urge to dance. In fact, I'm listening to the song right now as I'm typing this, and resisting the urge to stop typing and dance. That's how good it is. But let's get to the meat of Classic Man (Remix). The production is fantastic, Jidenna sounds great, the "heys" in the background are cool, the lyrics are great (I especially like the lyric "I've got charm like a leprechaun", and how he says "mummafunka" instead of "motherfucker"), but what truly makes this song great is Kendrick Lamar. I don't know if this is controversial, but Kendrick's verse on this song is his best guest verse ever, even including King's Dead. A lot of people say that when Kendrick is on his own, he's really good, but when he's on another person's songs, he's just ok. And I agree. Even on Don't Wanna Know, my favorite Maroon 5 song, he was easily the weakest part. But here, he frickin' kills it. Remember in my top 10 best Lyrical Lemonade songs list when I said that not even Kendrick's flow was as good as Eminem's in Godzilla? Well Kendrick's verse in this song comes close. The way he just spits out lyrics in what feels like mere seconds is absolutely fantastic, and makes an already jammin song even more jammin. So yeah, while Classic is an alright song, Classic Man (Remix) blows it out of the park. But despite that, both songs are really good songs that I highly recommend checking out.

Song Review: Krabby Step by Tyga, Swae Lee, and Lil Mosey

Like many people, I love SpongeBob SquarePants. It's one of the best cartoons ever made, with memorable characters, fantastic humor, and iconic moments. And while I haven't seen the newest SpongeBob movie (Will Nickelodeon ever let this franchise die?), I have heard the song made for it, and WOW is it good. First off, the song samples the iconic Krusty Krab theme song, and like Back In Time, this song does that sample justice. Although unlike that song, where they integrate Love Is Strange into the song, here, they just play the song as is, with the bass slightly boosted, and rap over it. Speaking of which, let's get to the singers, starting with the most surprising one, Tyga. Tyga is surprisingly enjoyable on this song. His voice is really relaxing and vibing, which works really well with the beat, helped by the bits of enthusiasm peppered throughout his verses. Moving on to Swae Lee, who's also alright. His voice is good, his flow is alright, and his verse is full of SpongeBob in-jokes. Finally, Lil Mosey. Lil Mosey is great. He's enthusiastic, enjoyable, fun, and his lyrics are great. Bottom line, this song is really good. I can't speak for the movie it's from, but Krabby Step is a really good tribute to SpongeBob.

What are your thoughts on Krabby Step? Have you seen Sponge On The Run? What are your thoughts on it? Comment Below!!!!

Top 10 Best Lyrical Lemonade Songs

With the amount of times Lyrical Lemonade songs have been brought up in music reviews, it's surprising that nobody has talked about Lyrical Lemonade as a whole. Well, I'm not one to not start trends, so here are my top 10 favorite Lyrical Lemonade songs. Enjoy.

10. Tell Me Why by The Kid LAROI

This is a very interesting song. The beat is both funky and melancholy, Kid LAROI has a good voice, and the song manages to be both an enjoyable groove, and an emotional powerhouse. It also helps that this song is a tribute to JuiceWRLD. And while I don't speak for everyone, I think this is a good tribute. Tell Me Why, a song that you'll bop to while tearing up. R.I.P JuiceWRLD.

9.

Flex Like Ouu by Lil Pump

It's no Eskeetit or Be Like Me, but Flex Like Ouu is still a pretty enjoyable song. The beat is funky, Lil Pump is energetic and enjoyable, and the song has a fun and enjoyable vibe. And while the lyrics are generic Lil Pump fare, it's delivered with a fun, funky, enjoyable vibe. Check this out, unless you're a Lil Pump hater.

8.

What's Poppin by Jack Harlow

As I said in my review of both this song and Ransom by Lil Tecca, What's Poppin is a really funky, cool song. The production is great, especially those pianos, Jack sounds great, the lyrics are clever, Jack's flow is pretty cool, the music video is fun and quirky, and it's just an all around enjoyable song. Check it out.

7.

Betrayed by Lil Xan

I haven't heard much from Lil Xan, but this song is pretty cool. The beat is funky and relaxing, Xan sounds alright, the lyrics are interesting, and the song itself is such an immersive experience. There are a few iffy lyrics, but other than that, Betrayed is a really good song. Certainly better than whatever the hell Tick Tock was.

6.

Ransom by Lil Tecca

I love this song. The beat is fantastic, Lil Tecca is amazing, the lyrics are alright, the music video is cool, and the song just has a fun, bouncy energy. I already reviewed both this song and What's Poppin in a previous post, so check that out if you want a full, detailed look at why this song is awesome, but long story short, Ransom is fantastic.

5.

Magic In The Hamptons by Social House and Lil Yachty

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this song should be way more famous than Boyfriend. The beat is fun and relaxing, Social House sounds great, the song has a fun charm, the lyrics are enjoyably silly, the old man makeup is pretty good, and it's just an all around enjoyable peice of music. But let's get to, not the best part, but a part that's really good: Lil Yachty. As usual, Lil Yachty's guest verse is really good. Unlike Broccoli and iSpy, which, while he was good in those songs, he had a few...questionable lines, here he doesn't. His lines are pretty ordinary, fun, and stick with the song. The only problem is that this song ends too quickly. When I really get into it, that's where it stops. Which really sucks. But despite that, Magic In The Hamptons is a fun and enjoyable song, which proves that despite the massive mess that was Boyfriend, Social House is really talented.

4.

Godzilla by Eminem and JuiceWRLD

This song was my introduction to Lyrical Lemonade. And what an introduction, because Godzilla is phenomenal. The beat is catchy, funky, bombastic and enjoyable, the music video is cool, JuiceWRLD is good (R.I.P JuiceWRLD), but what really makes this song good is Eminem. Eminem has been good before, but in this song? I would not be surprised if Eminem was related to this guy:

His flow is straight up amazing. The way Em is able to dispense so many lyrics in what feels like seconds is absolutely incredible. Like, not even Kendrick Lamar has that great a flow. It's straight up amazing. Also, that Mike Tyson cameo is funny, and this is the last song JuiceWRLD ever made before he unfortunately died. So yeah, glad to see Jarad went out with a good one.

3.

DoIHaveTheSause? By Ski Mask The Slump God

This song is an incredibly fun, surreal piece of trippiness. The production is fun and cool, Ski Mask sounds great, the music video is amazing, and the song is just so funky and enjoyable. On top of that, the lyrics are really funny and silly, there's a lot of fun and enjoyable charisma present, and like Betrayed, DoIHaveTheSause? is incredibly immersive. Easily the second best song from Ski Mask The Slump God. Second? You'll see.

2.
Robbery by JuiceWRLD

Yeah, I couldn't talk about great Lyrical Lemonade songs without talking about this one. It's weird to think that there are actual JuiceWRLD fans who hate this song, yet here I am, one of the least emo people you'll ever meet, and I absolutely love it. Why? Well, strap in, because there's a lot to unpack. First off, the production. I LOVE this production. It's so relaxing and lovely. The pianos sound amazing, and the song just has a nice, relaxing vibe. On top of that JuiceWRLD sounds great. I can understand people hating his voice in this song, but I think it's fine. Jarad's droning voice perfectly fits the melody in a way that Bruno Mars' didn't when he made Grenade. Also, as I mentioned, I absolutely love when he says " I don't wanna leave, I just wanna be." He just puts so much emotion in that line that I can't help but feel it. As for the lyrics? Yeah, the lyrics are certainly not perfect. There are a lot of bad lyrics like" "One thing my dad told me was, "Never let your woman know when you're insecure," "Was your love for real? (For real? For real?) Is your love really true?", and of course "One thing my heart tells me is, "Flex on a hoe every time they're insecure". And while those certainly are immature and terrible lyrics, unlike Lucid Dreams, which is cartoonishly over the top, here it feels realistic. Jarad was a teenager when he wrote this, so the lyrics would be this immature. And honestly, the rest of the song is so good, that I don't care. Bottom line, Robbery is a great song, from an artist that left us way too soon. Hope you're enjoying heaven, Jarad.

1.

Faucet Failure by Ski Mask The Slump God

Faucet Failure is like the musical equivalent of a museum. It's not really a song you're meant to groove to, it's more of a song you just experience for the absurdity. The lyrics in this song are so insanely clever and ridiculous. I recommend watching Genius' video where Ski explains the meaning of the lyrics of this song. It's pretty cool. But it's not just the lyrics. The beat is enjoyable, Ski sounds great, the music video is awesome (I especially like how they got an actual Ostrich to appear in the video. I'd love to know how they did that), and I love the break in the middle. It's very funny. Bottom line, Faucet Failure is a fantastic, bizarre, fun, and enjoyable piece of music. Remember when I said that DoIHaveTheSause? was Ski's second best song? Well, this is his first. It's a bizarre, fun, enjoyable piece of music that I highly recommend checking out.

Well, that was my list of my Top 10 favorite Lyrical Lemonade songs. What are your thoughts on these songs? What LL songs did I miss? What are your favorite Lyrical Lemonade songs? Comment below!!!!!

Album Review: Labrinth, Sia & Diplo present... LSD by LSD

Since I'm a massive fan of bizarre music, and I've talked about Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo at least once on this blog, it only makes sense that I'd review the debut Studio Album of their band, LSD. Let's dig in.

Labrinth, Sia and Diplo Present... LSD.png

Cover: This cover is absolutely fantastic. It's pretty, it's eye catching, it's trippy, it's everything you'd want in an album cover and more. Verdict: 5/5.

Song 1: Welcome To The Wonderful World Of

Welcome To The World Of is a very good intro track. It's a very bizarre, weird song, that does a good job of showing you what you'll be in for. The only problem is that some parts of this song are extremely grating, especially Sia screaming. But it's still really interesting, and a decent beginning.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 2: Angel In Your Eyes

This song is really funky. The beat is cool, Labrinth sounds great as usual, the instrumentation is really funky and cool, Sia sounds great, and the song has a great vibe. It's just an all around funky, fantastic piece of music.
Verdict: 5/5

Song 3: Genius

Genius is a really cool song. The production is really good, the pianos are cool, Labrinth and Sia sound great as usual, there's a bit of funk added in, Diplo's beat is fantastic as usual, the chorus is fantastic, and the song reminds me a little of classical music at points. All in all, a very cool, interesting, and enjoyable piece of music.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 4: Audio

I really like this song. It's an enjoyably trippy piece of relaxingness. Labrinth and Sia both sound great, the instrumentals are really cool and nice to listen to, Diplo's beat is great as usual, and like Lean On, Bad Liar, and Demons, Audio is an incredibly immersive listening experience. Also, the instrumental break is fantastic. Audio is easily the best song on this album.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 5: Thunderclouds

Thunderclouds is a very pretty piece of music. Everything about it is so tranquil, nice and cool. Labrinth is great, Sia sounds great, the guitars are lovely, it's just a lovely, enjoyable tune. Nothing more, nothing less.

Verdict: 4/5.

Song 6: Mountains

Mountains is really cool. The beat is relaxing and funky, Labrinth and Sia both sound great, the lyrics are decent, it's just an enjoyable funky jam.
Verdict: 4/5.

Song 7: No New Friends

This song is really cool. The beat is funky and nice, Labrinth and Sia sound great, and like Angel In Your Eyes, No New Friends has a lovely, funky cool vibe.

Verdict: 5/5.

Song 8: Heaven Can Wait

Heaven Can Wait is one of the more mediocre songs on the album. The beat is certainly funky, bur it has a sludgy, ugly vibe, and it can get screechy at points. A definite skip.

Verdict: 2/5.

Song 9: It's Time

Wow this is boring. Like, seriously. For an album supposed to be all weird and cool, this song sticks out like a sore thumb. Sia sounds terrible, Labrinth sounds boring, and the song feels more at home in Macklemore's Gemini than this album. Easily the worst song on the album.

Verdict: 0/5.

Song 10: Genius (Lil Wayne Remix)

Since I already talked about the original song, I'm only going to talk about Lil Wayne's verses. And he's pretty good. He doesn't even remotely compare to how he did in Sucker For Pain and Be Like Me, but he still sounds alright. But despite Lil Wayne being alright, this is basically just an inferior version of the original, has no reason to exist, and honestly isn't a great choice to end the album on. Still alright though.

Verdict: 4/5.

Final Thoughts: As expected, Labrinth, Sia & Diplo present... LSD is a fantastic album. While it does fall apart near the end, LSD does have a lot of fantastic songs. Genius is great, Angel In Your Eyes is funky as hell, Thunderclouds is nice and tranquil, and don't even get me started on how amazing Audio is. I highly recommend checking this album out, and can't wait to hear more from LSD.

Verdict: 5/5.

Best Songs: Audio, Genius, Angel In Your Eyes, No New Friends, Thunderclouds.

Worst Songs: Heaven Can Wait, It's Time
