Top 10 Best Imagine Dragons songs

Imagine Dragons is a band that has massively grown on me. When I first started this blog, I thought they were mediocre, with only Thunder and On Top Of The World to their name. But now, after exposure to some of their other music, I've gained more of an appreciation for them. And because of this, I present to you, my top 10 favorite Imagine Dragons songs. Enjoy.

10. Emma

I struggled for a while to figure out what would be #10, but in the end, I settled on this one. Because it's really good. The beat is relaxing and jazzy, Dan sounds pleasant, and I like the rock vibe. A very groovy, relaxing, cool song, that's one of the more underrated Imagine Dragons songs. Check it out.

9. Sucker For Pain

c

I was originally going to put Radioactive on this list, but I realized that I actually really didn't like it. It's way too dull and murky for my tastes. So I figured I'd go with Sucker For Pain instead. Sure Dan Reynolds has only one verse, but it is the main verse, and it's honestly an amazing song. Bringing up Radioactive, the reason Sucker For Pain works for me, and Radioactive doesn't is because Sucker For Pain is dark in a way that's interesting. Radioactive is a bitter piece of murkiness, which I respect, especially because it thrust ID into the limelight, but for someone like me who listens to music like this:

Radioactive is a chore to listen to. However, Sucker For Pain manages to use it's dark tone and atmosphere to be interesting and cool. The song feels like you're sitting in prison, with a bunch of prison guys, each telling their story. It's a very immersive, interesting experience. Oh, and it sounds amazing. The production is fantastic, and everyone ranges from alright to musical perfection. It is a real shame that a song this amazing is associated with Suicide Squad of all things, because it is so fricking good.

8. Bad Liar.

Unlike Selena Gomez's Bad Liar, which is an absolutely boring piece of incompetence, Imagine Dragons' Bad Liar is really cool. Dan sounds fantastic, the beat is relaxing and nice, and like Lean On, it's an incredibly immersive piece of relaxingness. Except while Lean On was groovy, Bad Liar is more introspective, deep, and tranquil. It's like if you combined Lean On and Demons into one song. And while the music video is... really weird, it doesn't change the fact that this is a really good song. Bad Liar is easily one of the best songs on Origins. And speaking of good songs on Origins...

7. Natural

Natural is a really cool song. It starts out very subtle and interesting, with Dan's harmonic voice, and then it just shifts into a shouty piece of awesomeness. Every aspect of this song is booming, anthemic and awesome, with an interesting music video to boot. It's just a bizarre, impactful, anthemic piece of music. But as good as Natural is, it's not the best song on Origins. That honor goes to...

6. Zero

While I don't love the movie it came from, Zero is easily one of Imagine Dragons' best songs. Every aspect of this song just shines. The production is funky and enjoyable, Dan sounds amazing, the lyrics are deep and interesting, it's incredibly immersive and funky, the music video and lyric video are cool, and as I've said a million times, that bridge is amazing. While it's incredibly simple and bare bones, the way the song just stops its funky momentum, and becomes relaxing and immersive, combined with Dan's relaxing voice. It's like the audio equivalent of a rapture. Regardless of how good or bad Ralph Breaks The Internet is, its existence was worth it to give us this amazing piece of music. Like I Don't Care and Cool, Zero has one of the most ironic song titles ever. Because it is anything but a zero. And the fact that it's only #6 really shows how fantastic the rest of these songs are.

5. Whatever It Takes

Like Natural, many people regard Whatever It Takes to be one of ID's better songs, and I agree. It is pretty good. Like Natural, Whatever It Takes has a booming anthemic feel. And while it's not as booming and anthemic as that song, WIT is still very booming and cool. It's an extremely cool bop, supported by a cool music video, even cooler lyric video, and of course Dan Dan the Muffin Man. Dan Reynolds is a surprisingly good rapper. He manages to have a really good flow, and his fantastic voice really helps support this already great song. And while the lyrics are generic motivational fluff, Whatever It Takes is too cool of a song for me to care. Rock on.

4. Demons

Demons is basically Radioactive done right. While, like Radioactive, Demons is extremely dark, unlike Radioactive, which is bitter and dark, Demons is more introspective and cool. It feels like what JuiceWRLD was going for when he made All Girls Are The Same. And on top of that, OH MY GOD DOES THIS SONG SOUND AMAZING!!!!! The production is amazing, Dan sounds incredible, the music video, while depressing, is still very interesting, and it's just an all around fantastic song. A lot of people hate Demons and consider it a sellout. Well, if a sellout sounds this good, then I don't care. While this song is called Demons, it sounds more like it was made by Angels. Also, it's dedicated to Tyler Robinson, a 17 year old Imagine Dragons fan who died of cancer. And that makes this already great song even better.

3. On Top Of The World

And now we go from a dark song dedicated to a cancer patient, to a fun, enjoyable piece of happiness. On Top Of The World is just a giant ball of sunshine. The production is funky and happy, Dan sounds really nice, the lyrics are fun and motivational, the music video is fantastic, the clapping is really cool, and it's just a great song to listen to when you feel down or unmotivated. It's weird that most people don't talk about this one because it's the kind of song everyone can like, regardless of musical preference. Check it out if you haven't already.

2. Shots

Shots is absolutely fantastic. For one, the fact that the music video for this song is inspired by the work of a surreal painter already lands Shots a spot in my good graces, but the fact that it's a good song helps as well. The production is enjoyable and funky, as well as having a classic rock vibe, Dan sounds amazing, the lyrics are deep and introspective, and it becomes more and more impactful and powerful as it goes on. Shots is easily the most underrated Imagine Dragons song of all time, and deserves way more fame than the obnoxious shouty mess that is Believer. And now, it's time to reveal my #1 favorite Imagine Dragons song, and be honest: you all saw this one coming a mile away.

1. Thunder

Screw the haters, this song is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! The second Dan Reynolds opens his mouth, we're treated to a bombastic masterpiece. The production is incredible, Dan sounds amazing, the music video is fantastic, and it actually manages to make chipmunk vocals sound good. That is insanely impressive. And like so many other songs, Thunder gets better and better as it goes on, until it stops at the bridge which, while it is the part of Thunder that's the least good, it is still decent and a good lead in to the amazing finale. Speaking of which, OH MY GOD IS THAT ENDING AMAZING!!!!!! If the bridge in Zero is the audio equivalent of a rapture, the ending of Thunder is the audio equivalent of a super-rapture. And I know that's not a thing, but this ending is making it a thing. I pity the poor souls that hate this song. That can't see the amazing bombastic fantasticness of it. Sure it's repetitive, sure the lyrics are generic motivational fluff, sure it's commercially, but who cares when it sounds this frickin' good!!!!!!!!! I love Thunder with a flaming passion, and I'll defend it till the day I die.
